First Time Baby is sitting up by herself. 6 and a half months old and she is sitting by herself for quite a while now. Occasionally she does fall over and you have to prop her up again, because she can't actually do the sitting up part herself yet, but we're getting there!
We also have bought the next car seat up now, First Time Baby is getting too big for the Maxi Cosi baby seat now, the one which faces the back and clicks into the Maxi Cosi ISOFIX base. Her legs are too long for the seat and so push against the back seat in the car, but she's not big enough around her body to be safely held in place in the larger car seat (the Maxi Cosi Tobi). We went into the John Lewis baby section at the John Lewis store in Bluewater, and saw a really nice lady there who pointed out to us that you are supposed to move onto the next seat when your baby's head is level with the top of the seat and rather bluntly (but not incorrectly) pointed out that in a crash you would rather your baby had broken legs than a broken head. Well... quite... she's not wrong, I guess.
But then I worry about her shoulders being squashed down by the straps on the smaller baby seat and I think we are definitely close to the switchover, we just need First Time Baby to put on a few pounds (she's just over 16lb now). We did try her out in the new seat the other day and she loved to face the front, she absolutely loves to sit more upright, and be able to look out of the weekend.
Oh well... won't be long now, I'm sure.

I remember those days well, and wouldn't mind going back as I am in the teenage years now and awaiting their flight from the nest. I did not think it would be as challenging as it is and I had way too high of ideals. Oh well, life goes on.
Enjoy each day God gives and look for those things to be thankful for.
